So this weekend we gave the chickens a fall treat--a pumpkin. Of course, it being us we stuck the webcam inside and ran Chickam all weekend so everyone could get a laugh.
They love the pumpkin! Spork the Barred Rock and Popcorn the Belgian d'Uccle/bantam Cochin mix demonstrate the proper technique:
And Pearl demonstrates what NOT to do--climb inside and get stuck, then have the pumpkin roll away with you and worry Bobbie the buff Brahma rooster (she was okay, just mortified and avoided the pumpkin afterward):
Meanwhile, Eggroll is growing into a handsome rooboy, although slowly.
Beautiful saddle feathers and a proper dinosaur frill over his eyes.
...but still no tail.
We're keeping that crossbill trimmed, but as you can see it doesn't interfere with him eating. AT ALL.
