...or it will be in 21 days.
Today I set 28 eggs in the ReptiPro incubator, with a planned hatch date of April 20th! And yeah, we fully expect to get a bunch of 'hurr...weed' name suggestions.
The eggs are all from our flock, no shipped eggs this year. They are a rainbow mix, a cross-section of the eggs we get from our standard size and bantam hens.
As always, we will be webcasting the hatch and the following 8 weeks of the chick's lives, 24/7, with sound. So anyone in the world can tune in any time and watch the chicks!
I always *strongly* recommend that people start checking our Chickam YouTube channel 2 days before the planned hatch date--which would make it April 18th--because bantam eggs have a nasty habit of hatching up to two days early, the little stinkers. And once the hatch starts, it goes quick, like popcorn popping!

If you tune in and don't see Jack and instead see EGGS, it means the hatch has begun!
Join us in chat and help us name the chicks! We've been doing this for 11 years, so the obvious silly names such as 'Dinner' were used long ago...but chickens NEED silly and/or overly-pretentious names, so toss out those name suggestions! We'll put the names into a hat and as each chick hatches, draw a name for it.
Between now and hatch day, I'll update here and on the Chickam Twitter page: https://twitter.com/chickam2008

Springtime Romance
It's springtime in the chickenyard, and everyone is getting properly twitterpated.
Cam was having wind issues today, it blew up his tail and made him look like a big ol' flower...
Then he got it together and faced INTO the wind...
He eventually went out walking with Tater Tot. Cam and Tater Tot are having a bit of a romance right now, he escorts her around the yard while she keeps up a running commentary. He listened very attentively to everything she said.
That is all. 😊
