New Models!

Did some more folding the other night, finished some Scottie dogs:

And some really goofy-looking tom turkeys.

The Scotties are easy but require precise folding. The kid took a shine to that particular model and has folded a few of her own to play with. The turkeys are also pretty easy but have one sequence that is a bit tricky and takes a bit of fussing the paper into place.

Next will be some snails and winged boxes!

These are great! Love the turkeys especially -- so silly looking. The Scottie dogs are adorable. :)

I have a lot of packets of Japanese origami paper that I bought from a local Japanese grocery store about 25 years ago. I loved all the beautiful paper colors, patterns, and sizes but never did anything with the paper (intending to use it for various art projects).

    1. If you want to start on some basic models, this site has lots, ranging from beginner to more advanced, but still all very understandable (I've run into some origami diagrams that are CLEARLY in Moonspeak, even though written in English).

I understand the attraction to the paper though, some of it is just TOO pretty! Visit papermojo.com for tons of awesome paper, they even have a section where they sell odds & ends--perfect for origami folders!
